Countries receiving points from most juries / Denmark, 19
Highest placing country not scoring a top mark / Italy in 3rd with 10 points from Denmark, Burundi, Malawi and Turkey as highest marks

Czech Republic received the first douze points and naturally took the lead. However, that lead changed hands an incredible 14 times throughout the jury voting! Lithunia, Israel, Russia, Indonesia, Italy and Canada all held the number one position at some point, but when all juries had awarded their points, it was Lithuania who had the highest score. Denmark, Canada, Australia and Indonesia were all within the magical 12 points though, and once again the televote had the power to change everything. Interestingly, none of the jury top 5 appeared in the top 5 of the televote! Belgium, who had finished 7th with the juries, was the overall favourite with the public, and was followed by Russia (15th), Czech Republic (21st), Burundi (6th) and Italy (9th). The jury top 5 country placing highest in the televote was Denmark in 13th place, and as Lithunia finished a dismal 23rd, Belgium lept over the entire jury top 5 to claim their 4th trophy in only 14 editions! Burundi was not far behind taking the silver in their first top 20 finish ever. Italy won the bronze - their first medal since GM167 - and Denmark and Canada rounded out the top 5.
Belgium was one of the founding members of the contest, though they skipped a few editions in the early days and also changed HoD quite often. They won their first medal - one of silver - when Lara Fabian came close to victory in GM23, and until their first victory in their 50th attempt, Belgium only achieved 8 top 10 results. It was Tom Dice and Elisa Tovati who finally did it for Belgium in GM66, but it seemed like a fluke as the good results were few and far between. In the next 100 editions Belgium took home another 4 medals, but always finished on the last step of the podium. Then in GM208 they finally triumphed again, when Lost Frequencies, Elley Duhé and X Ambassadors came together and found the winning formula. With a gap of 142 editions between their first and second trophy, no one expected Belgium to strike gold again any time soon, but only 4 editions later, they took home their third gold medal with Loïc Nottet. And only another 8 editions after their third triumph, Belgium added their 4th trophy to the cabinet in GM219 with Oscar and the Wolf. And Belgium is truly on fire as they can already celebrate once again. They have now competed a total of 162 times, reaching 102 finals, finishing within the top 10 on 36 occasions and winning 10 medals. Well done Belgium, Angèle and Yisus!
