Welcome to Amsterdam
"Venice of the North with a Soul of its Own"

Welcome to Amsterdam, a city where timeless charm flows along its iconic canals, where golden age beauty meets modern creativity, and where every corner invites you to linger a little longer. Known as the Venice of the North, Amsterdam enchants visitors with its elegant gabled houses, arched bridges, and the gentle rhythm of bicycles gliding past.

Wander through the historic Jordaan district, where narrow streets reveal cozy cafés, boutique shops, and art galleries brimming with character. Step into the world-famous Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum to marvel at masterpieces that shaped the course of art history, or explore the moving story of the Anne Frank House, a place of reflection and remembrance.

For those seeking a taste of the city’s vibrant energy, Dam Square and Leidseplein buzz with life, offering lively bars, restaurants, and street performers that capture Amsterdam’s playful spirit. The city is also a culinary delight, where you can savor everything from fresh herring at local stalls to refined Michelin-starred dining, paired with Dutch cheeses and craft beers.

Take to the water with a canal cruise at sunset, watching the city light up in a golden glow, or lose yourself in the beauty of Vondelpark, a lush green oasis perfect for a leisurely stroll or picnic.

Amsterdam thrives on contrasts, balancing centuries-old traditions with cutting-edge design, contemporary fashion, and a thriving music and nightlife scene. Whether you’re here to soak in its history, admire its art, indulge in its flavors, or simply drift along its waterways, Amsterdam offers an unforgettable escape.

Welcome to Amsterdam – a city of freedom, beauty, and endless inspiration.

9 Highlights

  1. The Canal Belt (Grachtengordel), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is Amsterdam’s postcard scene, with elegant 17th-century merchant houses, arched bridges, and tree-lined waterways best explored by boat
  2. The Rijksmuseum, the Netherlands’ national museum, displays masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Frans Hals, framed inside a grand 19th-century neo-Gothic building
  3. The Van Gogh Museum, dedicated entirely to the artist’s work, offers the world’s largest collection of his paintings, drawings, and letters, tracing his turbulent creative journey
  4. The Anne Frank House, where visitors walk through the secret annex that sheltered Anne and her family, is one of the city’s most poignant historic sites
  5. The Dam Square, at the historic heart of Amsterdam, is surrounded by landmarks such as the Royal Palace, the 15th-century Nieuwe Kerk, and the National Monument
  6. The Bloemenmarkt, the world’s only floating flower market, fills houseboats on the Singel canal with tulips, bulbs, and souvenirs in a blaze of color
  7. The Zaanse Schans, just outside Amsterdam, is an open-air museum of windmills, wooden houses, and traditional Dutch crafts set along the Zaan River
  8. The Keukenhof Gardens, open in spring near Lisse, burst into color with over 7 million tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths arranged in spectacular displays
  9. The Volendam and Marken villages, north of the city, preserve a traditional fishing-town atmosphere with wooden houses, harborside views, and locals in classic Dutch dress for festivals and photos

The Result

Countries receiving most 12 points / Albania, 5
Countries giving 12 points to the winner / Israel, San Marino, Germany and Monaco
Countries receiving points from most juries / Poland and Spain, 21
Highest placing country not scoring a top mark / Poland in 7th with 10 points from Norway, Moldova and Iceland as highest marks
Lowest placing country scoring a top mark / Israel in 26th getting 12 points from Sweden

Throughout the jury vote, 8 different countries held the top spot at some point. China got the first douze points, but quickly passed the lead to Switzerland and then Ukraine, Liechtenstein, Albania, Sweden and Spain. The 18th jury sent South Korea to the top and they stayed there for the rest of the jury vote, winning with a comfortable margin. Uganda was next in line followed by France, Canada and Sweden. Would the public agree with this and send the contest to Asia? Absolutely not! In fact there was not a single overlapping country in the jury and televote top 5! Albania was the overwhelming favorite with the public, even though they were only 11th with the juries. Liechtenstein was the public's runner-up (15th with the juries) followed by United States (19th), Poland (12th) and United Kingdom (25th). As 13 players were part of the televote, its impact on the final result was bigger and since South Korea and Uganda - the favorites with the juries - didn't have much support with the public, finishing 23rd and 19th respectively, France could overtake both and take the gold just 3 points ahead of the winner of the telvote, Albania. South Korea had to settle for the bronze medal, with Spain and Uganda rounding out the top 5.

France debuted way back in GM03, but it was only in their 3rd attempt they reached the top 10. The first medal came in GM11, but the proud country had to wait for several years, before they finally stroke gold in GM60, when Grégory Lemarchal came out on top. In the next 10 editions, France came really close to a second victory three times, but had to settle for the silver each time. Then in GM90 Julien Comblat was the most popular artist and brought the contest back to France. Twice France has won The Double, and both Indila and Kendji Girac are Double Champions. Half of the last four gold medals were won by duos; first Matthieu Mendès and Pomme in GM98 and secondly David Guetta and Swedish singer Zara Larsson in GM125. The last two trophies were at the hands of soloists, one female and one male, with Philippine triumphing in GM164 and Casanova in GM193, and now we are back to the duos. France has now taken part 210 times, qualifying for 162 finals, reaching the top 10 in 86 of those and winning a total of 26 medals! This gold medal is the 11th for France, and the third for Deo, who took over as French HoD in GM155. Well done France, Jeck, Carla and Deo!

"M'envoler" by Jeck and Carla is a tender and uplifting duet that combines youthful sincerity with emotional depth. The song speaks about the desire to rise above doubts and difficulties, embracing freedom and hope while moving toward a brighter future. Its lyrics capture both vulnerability and determination, creating a universal message about finding the courage to move forward.

Musically, "M'envoler" is carried by gentle pop production, melodic harmonies, and the complementary voices of Jeck and Carla, whose interplay adds warmth and authenticity to the track. The balance of soft verses and a soaring chorus makes the song both intimate and anthemic.

On the charts, "M'envoler" found particular success in France, where it connected strongly with audiences. Its combination of relatable lyrics and heartfelt delivery helped it gain traction on radio and streaming platforms, marking it as one of the standout collaborations for both artists.
