Welcome to Stockholm
"harbourside Elegance"
One of Europe's most culturally diverse cities, Stockholm extends over 14 islands, united by a series of tunnels and bridges. Sweden's cultural, political, and financial center, the sprawling city houses some of the continent's top universities, attracting young scholars from around the globe. A cosmopolitan urban center known for both its modern and classical architecture, Stockholm draws the biggest tourist crowds with its compact old town, an island neighborhood packed with medieval churches, modern museums, and a seemingly endless string of souvenir shops. You can explore the walkable old town on foot or by bicycle, but if you wish to discover the surrounding islands, consider using the city's convenient metro system - the fastest way to reach the inner suburbs.

Highest placing country not scoring a top mark / Denmark in 4th place with 10 points from Lithuania, Cyprus and Italy as highest marks
Lowest placing country scoring a top mark / United States in 23rd place getting 12 points from Germany
Again we were witnesses to a very exciting voting, and it was not until the very last jury that Ireland took inched past Norway and took the gold by a margin of just 1 point. The bronze medal went to Turkey, and Denmark Lithuania rounded out the top 5.
Ireland was one of the founding members of GM, but after a disappointing debut they skipped the next two editions. They came back without much success and quit again after two participations. With a new HoD, Sara, Ireland came back in GM09, though their results were still far from impressive. In fact, until now their best result has been a 13th place. But now the struggles have been forgotten, as Brian McFadden & Delta Goodrem finishes on top of the scoreboard to bring the trophy to the Emerald Island as the first duo to claim gold in GM. Well done Ireland, Brian McFadden, Delta Goodrem and Sara!
