GLOBAL MUSIC 228: Brussels
|
Welcome to Brussels!
As Pierre de Maere managed to win the contest and give Belgium its 6th trophy, we are moving north to the Belgian capital, Brussels! 43 countries have signed up to participate, which is one less than last time! Returning to the contest are 3 European countries - Ireland, Lithuania and Romania - as well as the African country of Angola and the South American country and 5 time champion of Colombia. To head the Colombian delegation we have a new member of our family: Henry, whom we welcome in our midst! Six Global Music Champions are in the line-up this time and another 4 Medallists are fighting to be able to better their previous result. All these medallists will battle against a string of other returnees as well as a lot of debuting artists. Who will come out on top is up to you! The first hurdle in Brussels is the semi finals, from which 21 countries will qualify for the final as usual. We are so excited, so let's get inside ING Arena for the semi finals! Let the show begin here! NOTE: Votes are due already on March 16th |

New Rule added
|
Regarding submission of songs, a new rule has been added to the rule book: Rule 6e states: Once a song has been confirmed by the manager, it cannot be changed to another song. |

aND THE WINNER IS...
|
In February we have been in Les Escaldes, where the Caldea Spa has hosted the 227th edition of Global Music.
26 countries competed in the grand final, and Laura Escanes and Miki Núñez are now ready to reveal the votes coming in from all the juries. Afterwards they will announce the result of the televote, based on the 11 countries, who despite being eliminated in the semi finals, still took the time to vote. Unfortunately, the Italian delegation did not send in their votes, and the Italian score has thus been reduced to 0 points, and the substitute votes have been used. And now let's get to it! Buckle up and enjoy the ride! Here is the live voting. You can also check out the complete scoreboard here and soon everything about this edition including the separated televote here. Congratulations to our winner! We all now anxiously await the selection of the next host city. Statistics, country pages and the artists database will be updated as soon as possible. |

The Final begins in Les Escaldes
|
We have reached the final of the second edition of 2025, coming to you from Les Escaldes in Andorra. The semi finals were really close, so an exciting final is ahead of us! As usual 26 countries are left at this stage fighting for the gold. Check out who made the cut! It is now up to you to decide, who will follow in the footsteps of Mirela and take home the trophy. Votes are due on February 26th.

Conclusion of the Super Final
|
With the conclusion of the 2024 Super Final we are closing the door on last year's Global Music journey. 63 songs started out with the chance of being crowned as THE BEST SONG IN GLOBAL MUSIC 2024
In the end it was down to 2 songs who had been crowned as Champion throughout the year: The Czech entry "Hunger" by Aiko & Teya against the Belgian entry "Angel face" by Oscar and the Wolf. 31 players cast their vote in the Grand Final! Check out who ran away with the trophy! |
GLOBAL MUSIC 227: Les Escaldes

Welcome to Les Escaldes!
As Mirela managed to win the contest and give Andorra its 6th trophy, we are moving back to Europe, settling in the village of Les Escaldes in tiny Andorra! 44 countries have signed up to participate, which is the same as last time! Liechtenstein returns to the contest after a short break, though with a new HoD. After more than two years away from Global Music we happily welcome back Philipp! A single Global Music Champion is in the line-up this time and another 7 Medallists are fighting to be able to better their previous result. All these medallists will battle against a string of other returnees as well as a lot of debuting artists. Who will come out on top is up to you! The first hurdle in Les Escaldes is the semi finals, from which 21 countries will qualify for the final as usual. We are so excited, so let's get inside Caldea Spa for the semi finals! In January we have been in Shanghai, where Mercedes-Benz Arena has hosted the 226th edition of Global Music.

Super Final - Round 4
|
Tomorrow, the 4th round of the 2024 Super Final will kick off. The winner's of the 16 duels in Round 3 will move on, bringing us one step closer to the final show down! If you haven't already voted in Round 3, you still have some hours to so, as voting will close for good January 17th at 4 pm. CET. GLOBAL MUSIC 226: Shanghai

Welcome to Shanghai!
As Griff managed to win the contest for the second time within a span of just 3 editions and give China its 3rd trophy, we are moving to Asia, settling in fascinating metropolis of Shanghai! 44 countries have signed up to participate, which is one more than last time! GM226 sees the return of the staple houses Mexico, Portugal and Russia and one of the lesser frequent European countries: Austria. Finally we will also see a more exotic and rarely seen country in the form of Botswana. We have no new players this week, but I do have the pleasure to welcome back Sandro after a break of two years! There are 2 Global Music Champions in the line-up this time and another 5 Medallists are fighting to be able to better their previous result. All these medallists will battle against a string of other returnees as well as a lot of debuting artists. Who will come out on top is up to you! Super Final - Round 2
|
Yesterday, we saw the kick off of Round 2 in the 2024 Super Final. Of the 26 songs in Round 1, 14 songs progressed to Round 2, where they have been joined by all the Silver and Bronze Medal winning songs of 2024. Round 2 thus consists of 19 duels, and you just have to choose your favourite song in each duel. Very simple and easy to do. 34 players cast their votes in Round 1, so I'm counting on at least the same number of voters in Round 2. At this moment, 10 players have already sent in their ballots!
