The Result

Countries receiving most 12 points / Morocco, 4
Countries giving 12 points to the winner / Israel
Countries receiving points from most juries / Czech Republic and Finland, 22
Highest placing country not scoring a top mark / Sweden in 12th with 10 points from France as highest mark
Lowest placing country scoring a top mark / Australia in 25th getting 12 points from Solomon Islands

The first top mark went to United Kingdom, who held on to the lead during the first 7 juries. Poland then took over and stayed ahead for a really long time, but with 4 juries left to vote, they were surpassed by France. The second last jury, however, put Czech Republic in first place, winning the jury vote ahead of France, Poland, Solomon Islands and South Korea. Could Czech Republic finally lift the trophy for the first time? Their fate was in the hand of the public, and they had a different favourite. Finland narrowly beat Czech Republic, Morocco and United Kingdom in the televote, leaving South Korea in 5th place. However, as Finland only finished 7th with the juries, Czech Republic managed to not only hang on to the lead but to create a bigger winning margin of 20 points. Finland had to settle for the silver, and the bronze went to South Korea with Morocco and Poland rounding out the top 5.

For a European country Czech Republic debuted very late in the contest. They first entered in GM50 and did not reach the final. Another 11 editions passed before we saw their second entry, but the result was much better and Czech Republic achieved 3 consecutive top 6 results, as they became regular contestants. However, their results quickly became less impressive and between GM64 and GM121 they only reached the top 10 once. Finally, in GM164 they finished on the podium for the first time, as Katie Kei won a bronze medal. That result was bested in GM169, when Light & Love finished as runner-up. The current HoD, Vojta, took over the Czech delegation in GM201 ending a break of 31 editions for the country, and he kicked off his career with a top 10 result. Mikolas Josef won the bronze - the third medal for Czech Republic - a few editions later, and now, in their 110th participation the Czechs finally finishes on top. Well done Czech Republic, Aiko, Teya and Vojta!

"Hunger" by Aiko and Teya is a powerful, emotionally charged track that dives deep into themes of desire, ambition, and the yearning for more in life. The song captures the restless feeling of wanting something beyond reach, whether it's love, success, or personal fulfillment. With its haunting melodies and intense vocal performances, Aiko and Teya deliver raw emotion, balancing vulnerability with strength.

Musically, "Hunger" combines dark pop elements with a driving beat, creating a sound that is both haunting and empowering. The production is atmospheric, adding depth to the emotional lyrics and making the song resonate with listeners on a deep level.

Although "Hunger" didn't top major global charts, it gained considerable attention on streaming platforms and within the indie pop scene. Its poignant message and striking sound helped it stand out, particularly among listeners drawn to introspective and emotionally complex music.
