1. About the Contest
a
Each edition of the contest lasts one month and is directly followed by a new edition.
b
There is no restriction on the number of participants, but if more than 26 countries sign up, there will be one or more semi final(s) to determine which songs will qualify for the final:
c
The top 5 in the final will automatically qualify for next edition's final. The automatic qualification spot follows the country and not the player.
2. About the Players and Countries
a
Global Music is open to everyone, no matter where he/she lives. To join the contest you must complete this form.
b
You can choose any official country in the world, as long as it is not already represented. You can see, which countries are available under "The countries". Look for the countries in GREEN, as the ones in RED are currently taken. Countries not listed here cannot take part.
c
Players can represent another country than their own.
d
The country a player is currently representing is always reserved for him/her as long as the deadlines are met. If you for some reason cannot participate in one edition but want to return afterwards, just let me know, and I will keep the country for you for up to two months.
After each edition's semi finals, all countries that are not currently participating and are not reserved for the current player, will be set free. If a player fails to vote 2 editions in a row, their country is immediately set free. |
e
Players can only play with one song and thus for one country in each edition.
3. About the Songs and Artists
a
In order for an artist to represent a country at least one of the following criterias must be met. You should always be able to prove any claim.
For a duet at least one of the artists should meet one of the criterias. For a group at least one lead singer or the majority of the group members should meet one of the criterias. If the line-up of the group changes, the one in place at the time of the contest must meet one of the criterias. If a group split up, the line-up at any given time within the group's career can be used. Exception: Small countries with a population of less than 1 million (with a few exceptions) may send singers from one of its bordering countries. Countries with more than 200,000 inhabitants must, however, send a local artist on at least every 6th participation. These countries are marked with an * in the list below. Here is what's allowed at the moment:
For any other small country, please ask! |
b
The song must have vocals and lyrics but can be in any language and of any age and length.
c
Cover versions are only allowed if they are not a cover of a very well-known song, unless the artist of the original version is of the same nationality or is also present on the cover version. The manager decides at any time whether or not a song is in breach of this rule.
d
The song cannot have taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest (Final as well as semi final). Songs which competed in national finals are allowed as long as they didn't win. During national final season, these songs cannot participate as long as they are still in the running of representing their country at the Eurovision Song Contest.
e
An artist can only participate in 2 consecutive editions and no more than 3 times in total within 10 consecutive editions, no matter which country the artist is representing. A country can only send the same artist in 2 consecutive participations and no more than 3 times within 10 consecutive participations, even though there might be gaps of non-participation between the participations.

4. About the Voting
a
Everyone has to vote in the semi final even if you are directly qualified for the final and thus are not taking part in the semi final. When there are more than one semi final you can and must only vote in your own semi final, or the semi final you - as a direct finalist - have been allocated to. In the final, the players who did not qualify are not obligated to vote, but it is greatly appreciated, if they do.
b
Players can’t vote for their own song. (In the annual super final you can, however, vote for your own entries).
c
In the semi final players must vote for 10 songs. The points must be given as follows: 12 pts to the favourite song, 10 to the second one, 8 to the third one and then 7 to 1 pts for the songs ranked 4th to 10th.
d
In the final, players must vote for 10 songs. The points must be given as follows: 12 pts to the favourite song, 10 to the second one, 8 to the third one and then 7 to 1 pts for the songs ranked 4th to 10th. In addition every player also has to select 3 substitutes (1st, 2nd and 3rd substitute in the voting form). In case any of the songs to which a player has given points is withdrawn from competition, the substitutes will get points in stead. This way no points are "wasted".
e
Votes should be sent using the Voting form. Be aware that there are two forms: One for the semi final(s) and one for the final.
f
Players who do not vote when required will be taken out of competition So always remember to vote!
