Welcome to Oslo
"Architectural Innovation"
Norway's capital city, Oslo boasts a thousand years of history and a diverse mix of architecture that blends old, new, and ultra-modern. Although it represents one of the world's largest capitals by area, Oslo's central districts remain compact enough for easy exploration on foot or by bicycle. A prosperous hub of Norwegian trade, banking, and shipping, the city counts among the world's fastest-growing urban centers, as its thriving economy draws hopeful immigrants from around the globe. Filled with world-class museums and galleries, Oslo also provides quick and easy access to surrounding natural areas, which offer opportunities to hike, kayak, sail, and ski just a short ride from the city center

The Result
Countries receiving most 12 points / Denmark, 4
Countries giving 12 points to the winner / Brazil, Denmark and Armenia
Countries receiving points from most juries / Germany, 19
Highest placing country not scoring a top mark / Nigeria in 6th with 10 points from Netherlands, Poland, San Marino and Spain as highest marks
Lowest placing country scoring a top mark / Cuba in 23rd, getting 12 points from Bosnia-Herzegovina
This was almost Germany's game from start to finish. They did not lead the whole way through, but when they took the lead for the second time after 11 juries, they never looked back. In the end the winning margin was a very solid 24 points. United Kingdom took the silver after a string of bad results, and United States went home with the bronze. Nigeria and San Marino rounded out the top 5, and it was Nigeria's best result ever. Armenia just squeezed into the top 10 for the first time.
Germany is one of the founding members of Global Music and has to date competed 48 times, reaching 42 finals with 24 top 10 finishes. They didn't have the smoothest start to their GM career, as they only inched into the top 10 twice in their first 7 attempts. Things quickly turned around though, and Germany won GM10 with Sarah Connor and took the silver only 9 editions later. From GM24 on through GM39 they won another 5 medals and reached the top 10 on a further 7 occasions! And now, 44 editions after their first triumph, Germany finishes on top for the second time thanks to Mehrzad Marashi and Sandro, who has been HoD for Germany since GM19. Well done Germany, Mehrzad Marashi and Sandro!
