Welcome to Istanbul
"Queen of Cities"
A physical and cultural bridge between Europe and Asia, the transcontinental city of Istanbul serves as a living reminder of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires. A sprawling metropolis of nearly 15 million people, the city covers an area of over 5,300 sq km, straddling both sides of the Bosporus Strait. Turkey's cultural, economic, and spiritual center, Istanbul lures nearly 12 million visitors each year. Its biggest attraction remains its historical town center, a World Heritage Site filled with minarets and church domes. The city's entertainment hub, on the northern side of the natural harbor, offers lively nightlife and a network of pedestrian-friendly streets flanked by Neoclassical architecture.

Once again it was a very exciting and close voting, and the battle was for the medals! With the very last set of votes, debuting Guatemala inched past Serbia to reclaim the lead, which they had held for almost the entire second part of the voting. With Serbia taking the silver and Nigeria the bronze, all medallists were first time medallists! Algeria and Cyprus rounded out the top 5. Hong Kong achieved their best ever result, finishing 11th.
This is the first time that Guatemala enters the contest and also the first time for its HoD, Roberto! What a debut! Well done Guatemala, Ricardo Arjona, Gaby Moreno and Roberto!
