In the early stages of the voting, Netherlands looked like a serious contender for victory, but their points dried up, and Austria took over, only to lose the lead to Italy and ultimately Finland, who claimed their second victory in the contest. Hungary took home the silver and the bronze went to Italy. Austria and Portugal rounded out the top 5.
Finland has been part of the GM family ever since the very first edition and has done consistantly well over the years. They won their first medal in their 13th attempt in GM15, when Agnes took the silver. Another two medals followed with Johanna Kurkela and Anna Abreu both winning the bronze medal in GM25 and GM37 respectively, before Finland could finally lift the trophy in GM41, when Poets of the Fall finished on top. They have come very close to victory again three more times, but Jenni Vartiainen, Kaija Koo and GM Champion Poets of the Fall all had to settle for a silver medal. However, Lovex now takes home the gold with a healthy margin. Their second triumph is their 10th medal in total and 3rd within the last 10 editions! In 83 total participations, Finland has reached the final on 66 occasions and the top 10 a total of 27 times. Current Finnish HoD, Artem, took over the Finnish delegation as recently as GM90, and started off with a silver medal and now the gold in only his 3rd participation with Finland! Well done Lovex, Finland and Artem!
