  1. Song-Kul Lake, a high-altitude alpine lake at 3,016 meters, is surrounded by sweeping pastures where nomadic herders live in yurts during summer, offering horseback trekking and a glimpse into traditional Kyrgyz life
  2. The Ala Archa National Park, just 40 km from Bishkek, is a rugged gorge with glacier-fed rivers, waterfalls, and challenging hiking routes, including the ascent to Peak Uchitel at 4,580 meters
  3. Osh Bazaar in Bishkek is a sprawling, vibrant market selling everything from spices and fresh produce to felt crafts and traditional clothing, providing a lively snapshot of daily life in the capital
  4. Burana Tower, a remnant of the ancient Silk Road city of Balasagun near Tokmok, stands 25 meters tall and is surrounded by carved stone balbals (grave markers) and a small archaeological museum
  5. The Tash Rabat Caravanserai, a well-preserved 15th-century stone inn nestled in a remote valley near the Chinese border, served Silk Road travelers and sits at 3,200 meters in the Tian Shan mountains
  6. Lake Issyk-Kul, one of the world’s largest alpine lakes, is known for its mild microclimate, clear blue water, and beach resorts, with opportunities for boating, diving, and exploring nearby petroglyphs
  7. The Altyn Arashan Valley, accessible by a rugged trail from Karakol, is famed for its hot springs, pine forests, and views of snow-covered peaks, with basic guesthouses and yurts for overnight stays
  8. Osh, Kyrgyzstan’s second-largest city, is over 3,000 years old and home to the sacred Sulayman-Too mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and historic place of Islamic pilgrimage
  9. The Skazka (Fairy Tale) Canyon, located on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul, features colorful, wind-carved sandstone formations resembling castles, dragons, and otherworldly shapes
