⇧ Stari Most, Mostar

Stari Most in Mostar, originally built in the 16th century during the Ottoman era and carefully rebuilt after the war, is a graceful stone arch bridge spanning the Neretva River. It is famous for its traditional cliff-diving competitions and stands as a powerful symbol of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s cultural resilience.

Bascarsija, Sarajevo

Sarajevo’s historic Ottoman-era bazaar forms the cultural heart of the capital with its narrow streets, mosques, and traditional craft workshops. The area is filled with copper smiths, small cafés, and restaurants serving Bosnian specialties such as cevapi and strong Bosnian coffee.

Kravica Waterfalls, Ljubuski

The Kravica Waterfalls near Ljubuski create a broad semicircle of cascading water more than 25 meters high along the Trebizat River. Surrounded by lush greenery, the area is popular for swimming, boating, and relaxing at riverside cafés during the summer months.

Blagaj Tekija, Blagaj

Blagaj Tekija is a 16th-century Dervish monastery dramatically built into the base of a cliff beside the turquoise spring of the Buna River. This peaceful setting combines Ottoman architecture with a striking natural landscape and remains one of the country’s most photographed sites.

Vrelo Bosne, Sarajevo

Vrelo Bosne, located at the foot of Mount Igman near Sarajevo, is a scenic park where the Bosna River rises from a series of crystal-clear springs. Tree-lined avenues, wooden bridges, and horse-drawn carriages create a tranquil setting popular with both locals and visitors.

Pocitelj

Pocitelj is a historic fortified village along the Neretva River known for its stone houses, steep cobbled lanes, and well-preserved Ottoman architecture. From the hillside watchtower known as the Kula, visitors enjoy sweeping views over the river and the terraced village below.

Jajce

Jajce, once the royal capital of the medieval Bosnian Kingdom, is famous for its dramatic waterfall located directly in the center of town. The historic surroundings also include fortress walls, underground catacombs, and a rare medieval church later converted into a mosque.

Tunnel of Hope, Sarajevo

The Tunnel of Hope in Sarajevo was a hand-dug underground passage built during the siege of the city in the 1990s. It served as a vital lifeline for transporting food, weapons, and humanitarian aid, and today part of the tunnel functions as a museum of survival and resistance.

Stecci Medieval Tombstones

These tombstones, scattered across Bosnia-Herzegovina’s hills and valleys, are large carved stone monuments dating from the 12th to the 16th centuries. Decorated with mysterious symbols and figures, these UNESCO-listed grave markers reflect a unique and enigmatic medieval tradition.
