THE 2022 SUPER FINALIt is once again time for the annual Super Final! The format has been slightly changed from last year, giving all our champions of 2022 a direct place in the final. Still, the Super Final consists of 3 stages! This year we have 61 songs in the running for the ultimate honour of being crowned as the best song in Global Music in 2022. Any country participating at least 3 times in 2022 and reaching at least 1 final without winning a medal will have its best placed song entered into the Super Final's Stage 1: The Preliminary Round. Of the 28 songs in this round, the top 14 will move forward to Stage 2: The Semi Finals, where they will join the 22 Silver and Bronze medal-winning songs of 2022. Each semi final will have 18 songs and the top 7 from each semi final will qualify for Stage 3: The Grand Final. This year we are in Ponta Delgada, as NEEV won the 2021 Super Final. From Teatro Micaelense we are ready to kick off The Preliminary Round to find out which songs will progress to Stage 2. Don't miss out on having your say, when we crown the best song in 2022! Check it out here and vote before January 8th |

Nice, France |
Welcome to Nice!
As Casanova managed to bring the trophy to France for the 10th time, we are moving south to the Mediterranean. The 194th edition of Global Music will be coming to you from Nice on the sunny French Riviera. 44 countries have signed up to participate, which is two less than last month! Tanzania returns for a second try, having only participated once before - in GM94. They will be the only African nation represented this time. Will that be a good or bad thing? Among the participants is Quadruple Global Music Champion and the very first Global Music Royalty, Delta Goodrem. Can she make it 5 trophies, or will some new talent prevail? The first hurdle in Nice is the semi finals, from which 21 countries will qualify for the final as usual. We are so excited, so let's get inside Acropolis for the semi finals! THE WHOLE WORLD IN GLOBAL MUSIC
With the kick off of GM193 a major milestone is reached in Global Music. The small island nation of Nauru makes its debut in Husavik, and becomes the last eligible country to join the contest! This means that litterally the whole world has now taken part in our contest at some point. In reaching this feat, I have to give a big shout out to one of our loyal players: Adam. Shortly after joining Global Music in GM70, Adam told me that his mission was to have every country in the world participate at least once. He has not missed a single edition since and it has taken him a little more than 10 years to reach his goal, but now he has done it! |

Global Music Royalty Nominees
We are looking for Global Music Royalty # 50 and you have nominated these 3 artists:
Do remember that this is the last Royalty chosen on a monthly basis. Onwards, we will only select 5 Royalties each year. So make this count!
Ajda Pekkan
Let's go back to the start! This Turkish legend participated in the very first edition of Global Music and was the recipient of the first 12 points in the contest. How is that for history! Ultimately, Ajda finished a respectable 8th and came back in GM69 to lesser success.
Lawson
This British boyband - or are they real men by now? - did not only win on their debut. Their song "Learn to love again" scored the most points ever in the history of Global Music: 199 points! That was back in GM86. The guys have since graced our stage in GM128, finishing in 6th place.
Poets of the Fall
Rock has always been a tough sell on the GM-stage, but this Finnish rock group has proved that with the right melody and lyrics, they can speak to the masses. Poets of the Fall has represented their native Finland four times. On their third attempt they brought victory to Finland for the first time, and with their latest effort they came close again, settling for the silver. Reaching the top 2 on 50% of your participations is very well done.
You decide who of these 3 artists will be named as our next Global Music Royalty!
Voting is done through the voting form for the final, so be sure to use the voting form here when voting. Only votes made this way will be counted!
