The 2021 Super Final
It is once again time for the annual Super Final!
The new format from last year will once again be in place, so the Super Final consists of 3 stages! This year we thus have 70 songs in the running for the ultimate honour of being crowned as the best song in Global Music in 2021. Any country participating at least 3 times in 2021 and reaching at least 1 final without winning a medal will have its best placed song entered into the Super Final's Stage 1: The Preliminary Round. Of the 34 songs in this round, the top 16 will move forward to Stage 2: The Semi Finals, where they will join the 36 medal-winning songs of 2021. Each semi final will have 26 songs and the top 13 from each semi final will qualify for Stage 3: The Grand Final. This year we are in Stockholm in Sweden, as Molly Sandén and Will Ferrell won the 2020 Super Final. From Friends Arena we are ready to kick off The Preliminary Round to find out which songs will progress to Stage 2. Don't miss out on having your say, when we crown the best song in 2021! Check it out here and vote before January 9th |
I'm wishing my whole Global Music family a Happy New Year!
I hope you will all have a splendid evening, celebrating in style with people dear to you.
May 2022 bring each and everyone of you lots of happiness
and a lot of great music to Global Music!

Global Music Royalty Nominees
We are looking for Global Music Royalty # 48 and you have nominated these 3 artists:
Julie Berthelsen
With 7 participations under her belt, Julie Berthelsen has only missed the top 10 once! Even more impressively, she is also a Global Music Champion and double Silver Medallist! She has even performed in three different languages: English, Danish and Greenlandic. What more do you want?
Mercy Myra
The Kenyan beauty is nominated for being the first artist outside of Europe to win a medal in Global Music. She did so already in GM02, when she went all the way, sending GM to Africa already in GM03. Though she has not taken part since, her triumph is one for the history books.
Poets of the Fall
Rock has always been a tough sell on the GM-stage, but this Finnish rock group has proved that with the right melody and lyrics, they can speak to the masses. Poets of the Fall has represented their native Finland four times. On their third attempt they brought victory to Finland for the first time, and with their latest effort they came close again, settling for the silver. Reaching the top 2 on 50% of your participations is very well done.
You decide who of these 3 artists will be named as our next Global Music Royalty!
Voting is done through the voting form for the final, so be sure to use the voting form here when voting. Only votes made this way will be counted!

A few players have requested to have the YouTube playlist sorted. I'm happy to announce that the playlist for GM190 is now sorted in running order: Semi Final 1, Semi Final 2 and Direct Finalists. And even i running order of each section. This way it is easier to find and listen to the songs in eg. the second semi final. Presentation of Songs
Usually, all the songs for the upcoming edition are presented on our Facebook page before the new edition starts. However, in order to get the next edition - which has been delayed due to my travelling - under way as fast as possible, the presentation of the songs and videos will happen after the kick off of the new edition. The songs will then be presented in the running order, starting with Semi Final 1 then Semi Final 2 and concluding with the direct finalists. |

Global Music Royalty Nominees
We are looking for Global Music Royalty # 42 and you have nominated these 3 artists:
Alban Skënderaj
He is the most succesful Albanian artist in the history of Global Music. Lana Jurcevic
In her 5 participations for Croatia Lana has won the trophy plus a bronze medal. 2 of her other efforts has resulted in 4th place finishes, and she is behind 4 of the 7 best results for Croatia throughout the history of Global Music. That is very impressive and worth Royalty status!

Global Music Royalty Nominees
We are looking for Global Music Royalty # 41 and you have nominated these 3 artists:
Amir Haddad
He is nominated for his great success in the contest. Though he just missed the final on his 7th participation, Amir is a Global Music Champion as well as a Bronze Medallist. Even more impressing is the fact that he won the Super Final back in 2016. And he is so popular that 4 different countries have asked him to represent them!
Annalisa Scarrone
This Italian songstress is - despite her lack of medals - a true Global Music veteran. With 11 participations under her belt, Annalisa is a true competitor. She has never missed the final and has even reached the top 10 on 4 ocasions, though she has yet to finish in the top 5. It's probably only a matter of time, before she reaches that milestone as well.
